The “Handle With Care” program enables police to notify schools if they encounter a child at a traumatic scene, so schools and mental healthcare leaders can provide trauma-sensitive support right away, to help kids succeed.
A sequence of activities, puzzles, and clues that lead participants to discover the risks associated with vaping and develop skills to escape the vape. Intended for audiences ages 12 and up. Best in small groups of 4 -8.
For Adults Only. An educational experience that walks you through a typical teenager’s bedroom which is set up with drug paraphernalia. This interactive display offers parents insights into current trends in youth substance abuse, drug paraphernalia, and concealment of illicit drugs & alcohol.

Camp Thrive provides life-changing camp experiences for at-risk and underserved children ages 9-14. We offer camps for kids affected by economic insecurity, family hardship, trauma, parental incarceration, domestic violence, and other ACEs (adverse childhood experiences). Camp Thrive provides all the fun a child needs in a safe and nurturing environment (sports, recreation, swimming, rafting, hiking, arts, team building activities, creative talent shows, and more!). These camps serve to increase a child’s resiliency characteristics, social skills, leadership development, and holistic growth.
Free skateboard workshop ages 8-13. Participants will learn basic skateboarding, dangers of substance misuse, benefits of a drug free lifestyle and refusal skills. Free skateboard, helmet and pads.
For Parents. The “Talk. They Hear You.” Underage Drinking Prevention National Media Campaign empowers parents and caregivers to talk with children early about alcohol and other drug use.
For School Staff. To develop a workforce that has the knowledge and skills to recognize a suicidal crisis and be able to provide effective and compassionate support to coworkers experiencing suicidal thoughts or behaviors.
For High & Middle school. Fentanyl and prescription drug education.
The survey measures patterns and prevalence of substance misuse and related risk and protective factors. The survey is part of the TN Together state comprehensive plan to combat opioid misuse and reduce overdose deaths in Tennessee. Information on youth substance use will bolster state and local capacity to design prevention and intervention programs tailored to meet community needs in Dickson County and address local youth substance use issues. The survey is administered to 8th-, 10th-, and 12th-grade students in participating schools every 2 years.
